At FRC, we encourage diversity and are always working on ways to improve our program and service offerings. We have some exciting LGBTQ/2S inclusion projects happening in the upcoming months.

Counselling & Parent Support Group

This Fall, our counselling and family support team will continue to provide inclusive support to LGBTQ/2S individuals and families. We are also starting a group program for parents and caregivers of LGBTQ/2S children and youth, and hope to offer some fun gatherings that children can attend, too.

Youth Group

In September, our LGBTQ/2S Youth Group will start up again and continue meeting on a weekly basis. The group meets Monday evenings and is open to all people from the ages of 14-19.

Free Training

There will be a free Trans Care BC training session on September 29th from 1 to 4:30 PM in Vernon. This session will offer training on gender inclusive practice for medical professionals and community workers. Contact Avril (see below) to register for this training.

Anyone seeking individual or family counselling is encouraged to connect with FRC.

Our LGBTQ/2S initiative is made possible through support from the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation, Shuswap North Okanagan Division of Family Practice, and Trans Care BC.
