Children & Youth Counselling
She can heal. He can change. They just need help.
Our counsellors understand how to encourage children and youth to express themselves in ways that are comfortable for them, and help them get to a place where they can grow and shine.
Are you concerned about your child’s mental health? Are they struggling with anxiety, anger, grief and loss or challenges related to transitions? Through our Family Support Worker Program, we offer individual counselling for youth 13-18 years old.
Sexual Abuse Intervention Program
Has your child been sexually abused? Is your child exhibiting inappropriate sexual behaviour?
A counsellor can help your child—and your family—move through complex and confusing emotions one step at a time. Then we help your child understand how to move beyond what’s happened, and build a brighter future.
Therapeutic Counsellor Program
Children and youth with psychiatric disorders have a space to express themselves and get help making sense of what’s happening as well as how to lead a full and positive life.
This counselling for children and youth program is for clients who have been directly referred to FRC by the Vernon Child and Youth Mental Health Ministry.
Our professional counsellors have a range of degrees in social work, psychology, clinical counselling, and child and youth development. We maintain strict client confidentiality in all cases.
Our policy is to ensure that if you need counselling, you can access counselling here. Some of our individual counselling programs do have fees on a sliding scale based on income. If fees would be a barrier to you, please reach out so we can ensure your access to counselling.
