2SLGBTQIA+ Sex Ed

A four-part workshop series for 2SLGBTQIA+ teens ages 13-18. A space to learn comprehensive, age-appropriate and non-judgemental sexual health, relationship, and healthy decision-making skills from a trained sexual health educator. Workshop topics include:

Week 1: Gender and Sexuality

What is sexual orientation? Is it different from gender? What do the letters in “2SLGBTQIA+” mean and why are there so many!? Let’s seek to understand some common terms and definitions and learn more about the history of pride in Canada.

November 13, 3:30 – 5pm.

Week 2: Pregnancy and Contraception

How does pregnancy actually happen? What is “the pill” and what does it do? What does “abstinence” mean? A review of human anatomy, pregnancy, and demystifying what birth control is, how it works, and different types.

November 20, 3:30 – 5pm.

Week 3: Safer sex and STI’s

No gross photos here! An open discussion of sexually transmitted infections, how to keep yourself safe and healthy, and what to do if you think you have one.

November 27, 3:30 – 5pm.

Week 4: Healthy Relationships

Red flags, green flags, beige flags… Let’s talk about relationships, consent, values, and how to make healthy decisions about friends and dating.

December 4, 3:30 – 5pm.
